Feedback on Your Testing Experience
After you finish the examination, you will be asked to complete a short evaluation of your testing experience. Comments will be reviewed, but individual responses will not be provided.
Examination Score Reports
After you have finished the exam and completed the evaluation of your testing experience, you will be instructed to report to the test center staff to receive your score report. The score earned on the CSCP examination is reported as a scaled score. A scaled score is a transformed raw test score (the number of test questions answered correctly given the length of the test taken); its purpose is to report scores for all examinees on a consistent scale regardless of the exam’s version. Please note that a scaled score is neither the number of questions, nor the percentage of questions, answered correctly. The score report will not include your performance on pretest questions, nor will these pretest questions be used to determine your pass/fail status.
Diagnostic information is provided on score reports for those candidates who were unsuccessful. Diagnostic breakdowns, calculated per Domain, are intended to identify content areas by showing areas of relative strength and weakness. Percentages are provided to assist the candidate in identifying areas of study for purposes of subsequent examination.
Score reports may be authenticated using a digital embosser at www.pearsonvue.com/authenticate. Digital embossing maintains the integrity of the CSCP program. Digital embossers eliminate the possibility of authenticating counterfeit score reports.
Current passing score information is located on the CSCP website at www.cscp.org.
Confidentiality Procedure
NSCP and Pearson VUE have adopted policies and procedures to protect the confidentiality of examination candidates. Members of Pearson VUE and NSCP staff will not discuss pending applications with anyone but the applicant. Neither NSCP nor Pearson VUE staff members will report scores via the telephone, e-mail, or fax.
Validation of Scores
NSCP and Pearson VUE are responsible for the validity and integrity of the scores reported. On occasion, occurrences such as computer malfunction or misconduct by a candidate may cause a score to be suspect. NSCP and Pearson VUE reserve the right to void or withhold examination results if, upon investigation, violation of NSCP's regulations are discovered. Candidates are expected to fully cooperate with the investigation.
Release of Information
All individuals who successfully complete the CSCP program may be recognized for this achievement on CSCP's website or NSCP Currents. Authorization by the candidate is not required; Pearson VUE and NSCP will not release your scores to any other party.
Complaints and Appeals
Complaints or appeals may be submitted in writing prior to the exam and up until 30 days after exam administration. Written appeals must be submitted with supporting documentation or evidence to:
Certification Department
NSCP
22 Kent Road
Cornwall Bridge, CT 06754
The burden of proof is borne by the applicant. The decision of the Board of Governors is final. Complaints or appeals will not be considered after the 30 days have expired. Because of the thorough review and analysis of each question during the examination construction procedures, there are no appeal procedures to challenge individual exam questions, answers, or a failing score. Because of the secure nature of these examinations, neither NSCP nor Pearson VUE will disclose examination questions prior to, or after, the administration. Candidates responses to particular test questions (correct or not correct) will not be disclosed.
Reexamination
Candidates who have taken the examination and were unsuccessful must wait a minimum of 90 days between test administrations. To retake the CSCP exam, the candidate must repeat all steps as outlined in the “Registration” section of this handbook through Pearson VUE. Candidates may take the examination an unlimited number of times as long as they continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
CSCP Program Completion
Candidates who have fulfilled the program requirements must declare so by completing and submitting the CSCP Credential Application to NSCP for review and approval. Candidates are responsible for verifying their submission criteria for the CSCP credential before applying.
Candidates who have successfully completed the CSCP program will be sent official notification via US mail. This notification serves as authorization for use of the CSCP designation after the candidates’ name.
Registry
Securities compliance professionals who have been awarded the CSCP Credential have successfully fulfilled the following certification criteria:
- passed the Certified Securities Compliance Professional (CSCP) examination; and
- earned a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited US college or university (or foreign equivalent thereof) and completion of three (3) years of securities compliance experience; or completion of five (5) years experience in securities compliance; and

Once certified, the candidates’ names are added to the CSCP registry at www.cscp.org. Certification status may be verified by employers, the government, and accrediting agencies.
