CSCP Program

  • Designed to meet the dynamic changes and increased responsibility and authority now carried by compliance professionals in the financial services industry.
  • Requires expertise of both broker-dealer and investment adviser compliance best practices, rules and regulations, and industry standards.

  • The fee is $695 (US and Canada) or $725 (International) and includes access to the Curriculum online, writing the exam, the credential application process, and the CSCP Certificate.
  • NSCP membership has no bearing on the eligibility or cost of the CSCP program.
  • Appointments may be scheduled a maximum of six (6) months in advance.

CSCP Examination

  • The CSCP examination is the first step in achieving certification.
  • Eligibility requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited US college (or foreign equivalent); or a minimum of two (2) years experience in securities compliance.

Preparation

  • Read the CSCP Candidate Handbook.
  • Review the Competency Statements and understand they serve as the outline, or blueprint of the examination.
  • Understand that the CSCP is a self-directed study program.
  • Evaluate the information within the online CSCP Curriculum including the suggested preparation strategy; create your virtual customized study guide.
  • Allow a minimum of 3 months preparatory time.

Exam Delivery

  • Arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment.
  • Must present two (2) forms of identification (photo and signature required).
  • An official score report is issued after the administration of the CSCP examination.

CSCP Program Completion

  • Pass the CSCP examination.
  • Earn a Bachelor's degree from an accredited US college (or foreign equivalent) and complete three (3) years of securities compliance experience; or complete five (5) years experience in securities compliance.
  • Complete and submit the CSCP Credential Application for approval to NSCP.
  • Official notification is sent authorizing use of the CSCP designation to those who successfully complete the CSCP program.
  • CSCP Certificants receive a Certificate specifying that the CSCP designation has been awarded.
  • Certificants are added to the Registry on the certification website.

Credential Maintenance

  • Comply with the required Standards for Maintenance of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in Certification as established by the Board of Governors and NSCP’s Code of Ethics.
