Consequently, it often contaminates recycling material streams and is incinerated or landfilled. Additionally, the general lack of awareness among end-users about the correct pre-sorting of plastic waste exacerbates the challenge. The path forward requires innovation, adaptation, and a concerted effort to tackle the challenges of multi-layer plastic packaging. This report presents good practices for increasing the circularity of multi-layer packaging through five pillars: sustainable and circular design, circular business models, corporate social responsibility and consumer awareness, waste management\/recycling, and circular economy policies and regulations."}
