Internship SIPS-Team (II)

The Collaborating Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP) is offering a paid internship position.

The CSCP is an international nonprofit Think and Do tank that works with businesses, policy makers, partner organisations and civil society towards a good life. A team of currently 65 multi-disciplinary professionals contributes to the worldwide activities of the Centre.

Working hours: 4 days per week (flexibility possible)

Location: Home office possible from a location close to Kozani

Compensation: 450€/ month


Job description

The major task of the candidate will be to support the team in the planning, organisation and delivery of a series of multi-stakeholder engagement activities and events within the framework of the European funded project (H2020) SCALIBUR (Scalable Technologies for Bio-Urban Waste Recovery). The project promotes a circular economy approach to curb urban bio-waste and pilot test innovative approaches in three European pilot cities (Kozani, (EL), Albano Laziale (IT), Madrid (ES) to increase the quantity and quality of the collected bio-waste and to further promote the acceptance of bio-waste added-value products.


The tasks will have to be performed in the city of Kozani. The major task of the candidate will be on event planning and management. They will conduct:

  • Research in order to gain deep understanding of different requirements and details of the event
  • Support the coordination with local actors (i.e., local authorities, businesses, sponsors, media, vendors, etc.)
  • Support in researching and booking local services (e.g., catering, venue, technical equipment etc.)
  • Support the planning and organisation of the event in accordance with financial and time restraints
  • Support in the content preparations of the different events, support in set-up of activities (e.g., exhibitions), support in events execution

Qualifications & requirements

  • Completed first part of degree or at least in the 2nd year of your Bachelor study
  • Excellent command of Greek and good written and spoken English skills
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office-Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Networking savvy
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from different backgrounds with sensitivity and respect for diversity
  • First experience in event planning and management desirable but not mandatory
  • References are desirable but not mandatory

Other requirements

  • Team work spirit
  • Independent execution of tasks
  • Previous work experience (e.g. internships, assistant jobs) are advantageous
  • Knowledge of and / or involvement with local organisations / initiatives focusing on sustainability, waste management and citizen engagement are advantageous
