Position as SBE-Team Project Manager (m/f/d)

A team of currently 60 multi- disciplinary professionals contributes to the worldwide activities of the Centre. We are presently recruiting for a Project Manager to strengthen our Sustainable Business and Entrepreneurship (SBE) Team in 2024. Working in close collaboration with all teams at the CSCP, SBE core projects are focused on circular economy, digitalisation as an enabler to sustainability, business model development in Europe and the Global South as well as stakeholder engagement across various sectors.

Starting Date: As of May 2024 (please indicate your availability)

Working time: 60-80%

Duration:  2 years, with the possibility of extension

Your tasks will be:

  • Leading and delivering projects at strategic, management, technical, organisational, operational, administrative and financial levels
  • Coordination of internal and external project groups and project partners as well as external stakeholders
  • Leading project teams, human resources management at project level
  • Understanding SBE working topics, project portfolio and project opportunities, interactions with other CSCP teams
  • Development of project concepts and acquisition of externally funded projects
  • Research and knowledge development in related fields and trends like sustainable business models, circular economy, the European Green Deal, the twin transformation

You have:

  • Completed tertiary degree in a sustainability, social science, economics, engineering or related field
  • Ideally 5-7 years of relevant work experience; international experience will be viewed favourably
  • Experience in project management, in both public or private organisations, independent project or research work, presenting and workshop facilitation
  • Experience in sustainability topics in general, e.g. circular economy, sustainable value chains, stakeholder engagement processes
  • Experience in writing proposals and/or working at public national and EU funded projects e.g. Horizon Europe and others will be appreciated
  • Working knowledge on the European political agenda is a plus, though not mandatory
  • Working experience and/or interest in working with sectors relevant to CSCP including food, retail, textile and chemical sectors
  • Team spirit and a can-do attitude
  • Willingness to take responsibilities, availability to travel
  • Proficiency in MS-Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)


As English is the working language of the CSCP, fluency in written and spoken English is necessary. As the applicant will also be involved in German speaking projects, fluency in German is mandatory.


We apply the TV-L Salary system. The position corresponds to TV-L 13.
