Her work supports European and global sustainability projects, turning complex topics into clear messages that connect with people and inspire action. Areas of expertise Driven by a belief that language does not only convey meaning, but also shapes it, Flandra draws on a deep understanding of the audiences she works with, their perspectives, and the contexts they operate in to develop narratives that build common ground and bring people together around shared goals. Her expertise lies in developing and implementing communication strategies for national, European, and international projects on sustainability, inclusion, and resilience — and ensuring those strategies work in practice. This ranges from developing dissemination and exploitation plans and shaping editorial and content strategies to coordinating multi-channel campaigns and building meaningful stakeholder engagement. She also keeps a close eye on brand and message consistency, while monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on what communication achieves — and where there is room to do better. Current work At the CSCP, Flandra shapes complex sustainability topics into clear, credible, and relevant stories, without sanding away the complexity that matters. She brings together research, policy, and sustainability expertise and translates it into formats that work for project partners, policymakers, businesses, funders, civil society organisations, journalists, and the wider public. A major part of her work is making sure people are not communicating past each other: she aligns internal teams with project partners and external stakeholders, connects different perspectives, and helps build a shared narrative across voices, interests, and channels. Previous experience Flandra brings a strong understanding of how language shapes public perceptions, institutional trust, and societal change. Before joining the CSCP, she worked for several years in radio journalism with Kosovo’s public broadcaster and as a communications consultant for projects covering democracy, gender equality, and sustainability, where she developed a strong focus on audience needs, accessible storytelling, and engaging communication formats. Education She holds a PhD in Political Communication, University of Münster, an MA in European Studies, University of Bonn, and a BA in Political Science, University of Pristina. Flandra is a Kosovo national. I believe better (sustainability) communication starts with finding common ground without losing sight of what makes an issue difficult. Let’s connect to exchange ideas!
