Skalierung von zirkulären Geschäftsmodellen in Europas Kreislaufwirtschaft This report examines how circular business models (CBMs) can be scaled across Europe to support the transition to a circular economy. It was developed by the European Topic Centre on Circular Economy and Resource Use (ETC CE), with contributions from experts at VITO, NORION, CSCP, and the European Environment Agency (EEA). The study analyses current developments in CBMs, identifies key barriers and enablers for scaling, and proposes a conceptual framework for achieving broader systemic impact. It finds that while circular initiatives are increasing, they remain largely niche and face challenges related to finance, policy, supply chains, and consumer behavior. The report highlights the importance of coordinated innovation, supportive policies, and collaboration across value chains to move circular practices from pilot stages to widespread adoption.
