Call for Student Assistant with Interest in Circular Economy (m/f/d)

The Collaborating Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP) is an independent, non-profit “Think and Do Tank” committed to providing collaborative solutions for a sustainable planet.

A team of currently approx. 60 multi-disciplinary professionals contributes to the worldwide activities of the Centre. To strengthen our team in 2024, we are seeking a motivated and inquisitive student assistant to join our FAB.Region project team in the Bergische city-triangle.

The project aims to operationalise a co-creative circular economy using the Fab City framework, with three innovation locations serving as hubs for learning formats and test pilots in local production.

Tasks

As a student assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in various aspects of the project, including:

  • Support ongoing projects through activities like internet-based research of source material and literature and content creation
  • Content development for presentations, reports, publications and learning formats in the context of sustainability and circular economy
  • Support of workshop preparation and facilitation
  • Interaction with other CSCP activities in cross-team collaboration

Competencies

  • Good academic and analytical skills. Ability to draft clearly and concisely, very good language skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, works collaboratively with colleagues to achieve project and organisational goals, ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with different national and cultural backgrounds with sensitivity and respect for diversity
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with sustainability in general is a plus, though not mandatory
  • Other desirable skills: Good skills in basic computer usage, including internet searches. In particular, good working knowledge of MS Office-Word, Excel, Power Point, Intra-Internet, E-mail applications etc.

Language

The CSCPs overall working language is English, therefore fluency in written and spoken English is necessary. Since the project language is German, the candidate also brings fluency in written and spoken German.

Location: Wuppertal, Germany, working remotely is possible for some of the time
