How Can We Drive Impactful Change with Data: Join Our Upcoming PSLifestyle Workshop Series! How can tailored insights transform industries, shape policy, advance research, and enhance community engagement? The Lifestyle Test, developed as part of the PSLifestyle project, is a groundbreaking tool that reveals key sustainability hotspots and consumer behaviour patterns across Europe. Don’t miss our upcoming workshops to learn how this tool can help catalyse actionable solutions for a sustainable lifestyle! The effectiveness of sustainability solutions, particularly those with a consumer interface, largely depends on consumer acceptance and their integration into daily life. However, many products and services often overlook consumer needs or the practicality of real-world application. Moreover, lifestyle changes extend beyond individual behaviour; they require adjustments in the operational contexts where these behaviors occur. This underscores the interconnectedness of various actors, including people, and the need for a coordinated effort to achieve successful outcomes. Therefore, it is crucial to consider these factors when designing sustainability solutions. The Lifestyle Test, developed by the PSLifestyle project, encourages such a holistic approach. The web-based application allows individuals to provide and gather data to identify the primary sustainability hotspots among different populations across various European countries. The Lifestyle Test also explores the types of actions people are willing to take to reduce their environmental footprint, along with key motivations and barriers they encounter in choosing or implementing such actions. Beyond the individual level, the Lifestyle Test is a helpful tool for organisations, communities, or cities to gather tailored data, such as focused and actionable insights specific to the context in question. Since its launch in 2023 in 8 European countries, over 250,000 tests have been taken and 21,000 personalised plans to reduce the individual footprint have been created. In the spirit of co-creating solutions based on this data, the PSLifestyle project team will host a series of decision-makers workshops in October and November 2024 to showcase the Lifestyle Test and explore its potential applications. The workshops will target industry leaders, policymakers, academics, and civil society organisations (CSOs). With each group, we will focus on topics relevant to their operations and interests, including: Industry: Identifying opportunities for new business models, products, and services based on consumer insights. Policy: Examining current policy gaps and exploring how the tool can address these gaps effectively as well as initiating the development of new policies and solutions. Academia: Discussing research gaps related to sustainable lifestyles and generating new research ideas, as well as exploring how the tool’s data can advance scientific findings. CSOs: Developing more effective engagement strategies with consumers and bridging the gap between people and sustainability. The workshops in Germany will be held online to facilitate a diverse and inclusive group.
