Join the Final Conference of Our MERLIN Project on 27 November 2024: From Smart Collection to Innovative Valorisation! Multilayer packaging, often based on PET and polyolefins, presents significant challenges for recycling due to its complex structure. The EU Horizon project, MERLIN has focused on developing cost-efficient and high-performance solutions for sorting, delaminating, and recycling multi-layer packaging materials. As the project draws to an end, we call on policymakers, waste management professionals, packaging manufacturers, or researchers involved in plastic recycling and circular economy initiatives to join our MERLIN project final conference. The conference “From Smart Collection to Innovative Valorisation” will serve as a platform for presenting the innovative solutions co-created during the project, which aim to align with the EU’s plastics strategy and support the transition toward a fully-fledged circular economy. The conference, which takes place in Valencia, Spain and online will feature presentations from key project partners, including ITENE, the European Commission, and leading research institutions. At the event, you will have the opportunity to learn about: Advanced sorting and delaminating technologies for multilayer packaging Innovative recycling processes and the creation of new packaging materials from recycled waste Economic, environmental, and legal considerations surrounding the implementation of these solutions In addition, participants will have the chance to visit the MERLIN showroom at the headquarters of the project partner ITENE, where the project’s technologies will be showcased. Register here to have a front-row seat to innovative technologies and solutions for an increased rate and quality of multi-layer packaging recycling.
