Discussing the Social Impacts of Circularity

Circularity offers pathways to achieve more sustainable methods of production and consumption and provide benefits to society. However, although sustainability entails an ecological, economic, and a social dimension by definition, the discourse on social aspects has been lacking or less prevalent than the ones on economic and environmental aspects.

The aim of this report is to frame, address and better understand questions related to the social impacts of the transition to a Circular Economy. The report synthesises the gathered insights into key emerging themes and identifies gaps or areas of potential in the field.

The report is published as part of the Consumer Insight Action Panel (CIAP) – Electronics Club, a European multi- stakeholder initiative designed to support the transition to the circular economy by generating, applying and testing consumer behavioural insights in circular strategies in the electronics sector.
