Stakeholder Mapping and Baseline Analysis of Local Ecosystems

Soil degradation threatens environmental health, food security, and economic stability, leading to reduced agricultural productivity, water contamination, and biodiversity loss. The iCOSHELLs project, funded under the EU Mission A Soil Deal for Europe, aims to address these challenges by establishing six soil health living labs across Europe—in Sweden, Spain, Spain/France, Greece, Italy, and Bulgaria. These labs develop scalable and sustainable solutions to improve soil health and advance EU objectives.

This report analyses the starting point of each iCOSHELLs living lab, providing insights into the stakeholder landscapes and baseline conditions as of October 2024. The report targets project partners, Mission Soil stakeholders, and the global soil health community. The stakeholder mapping and baseline analysis employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative ratings with qualitative survey questions. The findings lay the groundwork for stakeholder engagement and co-creation strategies, ensuring tailored approaches to tackle soil health challenges and opportunities across the living labs.
