She is working on the integration of circularity and sustainability in the tourism sector and in the development of sustainable value chains. Before joining the CSCP, Adriana worked on green economy and sustainable value chains at the Human Development Report of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Bolivia. During her time there, Adriana identified and assessed land-use initiatives of environmental services, ecotourism, forest management and organic agriculture, that added value to products and services by integrating social and environmental considerations. Having a background in Law, Adriana is well versed in interpreting technical regulatory frameworks and policies. She has honed those skills further by conducting academic research to complete her PhD in Environmental Policy. For her thesis, she carried out in-depth analysis of environmental regulation and policy frameworks and assessed the compliance of dominant land use practices and agricultural trends with these frameworks. Some of Adriana’s previous work experience also includes academic research in the fields of Environmental Discourse Analysis, Social and Environmental conflicts of Extractive Activities in the Andean Region, Sustainable Development and Vivir Bien (Good Living). Adriana has experience working with different stakeholders such as farmers and peasants, politicians, governmental officials, academics and representatives of unions and social organisations as well as local development agencies, local governments and international cooperation agencies. Adriana holds a PhD in environmental policy from the Albert-Ludwig University of Freiburg and a Master of Arts in Environment and Sustainable Development from the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam. Adriana speaks Spanish, English and German and is a Bolivian national.
