Adriana brings her expertise in creative hubs and innovation labs to the team. Adriana’s impact extends to initiating, managing, and participating in nationwide and European grant projects focusing on digital design and manufacturing, product development, and innovation management. She co-created two FabLabs in the private and academic sectors. Her role as a senior consultant at Matrix Gruppe as the leader and an innovation manager in the European project Shemakes.eu has been instrumental in empowering women innovators through skills and networks in the sustainable fashion industry. Adriana’s unwavering commitment to collaboration and open innovation between applied sciences and industry is the cornerstone of her work. She believes these principles are crucial in building innovation ecosystems that foster environmental, economic, and participatory sustainability. This belief is reflected in her roles as a visiting researcher at the FabLab Kamp-Lintfort, Germany, at the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, and as a global instructor and lecturer in soft robotics at the textile and technology academy Fabricademy. With a background in Industrial Design, she completed her studies at the MFA Media Art and Design at the Bauhaus University Weimar and later the MA in Surface and Textile Design at the Weißensee Academy of Art in Berlin, focusing on materials research. She then completed the Fabacademy led by the MIT Center of Bit and Atoms. Her final project, MyOrthotics, led her on a journey towards open innovation with a focus on design for disabilities, participating in international FabLabs groups and co-founding the non-profit group FabCare.
