Aileen joined the Sustainable Infrastructure, Products and Services (SIPS) team in September 2024.

She supports various projects, bringing a service design approach to different tasks.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Puebla, Mexico, and is currently pursuing a second bachelor’s degree in Integrated Design at KISD (Köln International School of Design) – TH Köln University of Applied Sciences. While Aileen has a background in product design, her current focus lies in circular economy and service design. The intersection of these fields enables her to implement projects with a strong justification for design decisions, placing the user and the environment at the center of her work.

Aileen has participated in two projects in collaboration with the city of Cologne. One of the project outcomes is an exchange shelf for items that are still in good condition but are no longer needed by their owners. This shelf is located in a public space in Eierplätzchen, Köln. The project is currently being further developed to create an accessible and inclusive exchange shelf that can be used by as many people as possible.

She works at CSCP because she is eager to deepen her understanding of the implementation process for sustainability-focused projects in both the public and private sectors. She is particularly passionate about contributing to initiatives that have a positive impact on social and environmental well-being.

Aileen is a Mexican citizen.
