Carla joined the Sustainable Infrastructure, Products and Services (SIPS) team in 2023.

Carla holds a B.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Siegen in Germany and an M.Sc. in Governance of Sustainability from Leiden University in the Netherlands. During her undergraduate studies, she delved into political science and sociology, with a focus on comparative country and social analysis, European and international relations, transnationality, and globalization. Her passion for sustainability was sparked during an integrated year abroad in Sweden, where she explored political and societal challenges from an environmental perspective.

Building on this foundation, Carla pursued a master’s degree, specialising in the transdisciplinary approach to addressing urgent environmental issues. At Leiden, she developed the ability to integrate governance and environmental science perspectives, working closely with non-academic stakeholders to co-create innovative solutions for real-world challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, water management, and the circular economy.

In her role at the CSCP, Carla focuses on capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and the co-creation of sustainable products and solutions, particularly in areas like circular economy, bioeconomy and biodiversity. Her work bridges diverse perspectives to foster meaningful collaboration and actionable outcomes. With a rich cultural heritage shaped by German, Argentinian, and Italian influences, Carla brings a unique global perspective to her work. She speaks fluent Italian, German, English, and Spanish, enabling her to connect effectively across cultures.

Carla is a German national.
