Luca joined the CSCP in 2020 as part of the Sustainable Lifestyles (SL) team.

Luca is passionate about creating pathways towards sustainable futures. His research interests focus on the social and political challenges for the direction and pace of sustainability transitions. Elements of norm change, shifts in opportunity structures, and the complexity of multiple interlinked transitions are particularly interesting to him. His bachelor’s thesis analysed the competing frames and salience of circular economy in the programmes of political parties throughout the EU. In his master master’s thesis, Luca examined the role of politics and power in sustainability transition research.

At CSCP, Luca uses his expertise in transition studies and participatory methods across various projects, ranging from behaviour change interventions, circular economy, and food waste reduction. Beyond CSCP, he contributed to research on the coalition promises of the German federal government and worked as a tutor at Trier University, where he taught methods of political science and co-hosted the Model United Nations project.

Luca holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from Trier University, and a master’s degree in sustainability science from Maastricht University. Outside of work, Luca is an avid cyclist and enjoys learning Dutch.

Luca is a German national.
