Pawel’s main interest lies in the collaborative improvement of consumer goods’ value chains. This entails both the identification and evaluation of social, environmental and economic opportunities and risks along a product’s life cycle as well as the collaborative improvement of those value chains together with the companies and their stakeholders in order to create and support sustainable as well as economically viable products for a good life. He works with multinational companies and their stakeholders towards integrating sustainable value-added in their existing products and product portfolios, as well as with startups and young entrepreneurs in order to develop new business models to face existing challenges in potentially disruptive and innovative ways. These activities encompass sustainability hot spots analyses for different sectors as well as the development of related measures and strategies for mitigation. Furthermore, Pawel is also involved in stakeholder councils related to sustainability Before joining the CSCP, Pawel worked at the Wuppertal Institute in the research group on sustainable production and consumption where he assisted in the development of hot spot assessments for a broad range of product value chains. Pawel holds a master’s degree in Economics of the University of Düsseldorf. During his studies, his focus was on the social dimension of sustainability. In his master’s thesis, Pawel analysed the antecedents of corruption and its influence on company performance in dependence of sectorial and regional influencing factors. Pawel is a Polish-German national.
