It happens when governance creates space for innovation, financing supports action, procurement creates new markets, and partnerships connect people and organisations to turn ideas into lasting change.

Dieser Themenbereich untersucht, wie Städte und Regionen die Voraussetzungen dafür schaffen können, dass die Kreislaufwirtschaft Fuß fasst und sich ausbreitet. Dabei wird über einzelne Maßnahmen hinaus auf die Systeme geblickt, die diese ermöglichen: die Steuerungsstrukturen, Finanzierungsmechanismen, Beschaffungspraktiken, Partnerschaften und organisatorischen Fähigkeiten, mit denen sich Kreislaufwirtschaftsziele in greifbare Ergebnisse umsetzen lassen.

Ein Leitfaden zu den Sitzungen

Die Mind-Opening Session, “Are Cities and Regions Equipped to Leverage the Circular Economy Transformation?”, puts this challenge into perspective. It asks why cities and regions are central to long-term circular transformation and how local actors can translate ambition into lasting change.

Die Pioneer Sessions explore the role of circular public procurement in creating new lead markets, the frameworks cities need to enable circular transformation, and how innovative housing-exchange programmes can move from concept to scale. The programme culminates in a networking session focused on a practical question: which structures, partnerships and instruments can make municipalities truly circular-ready?
