Coming Up in Spring 2025: FAB Events in the Bergisch City Triangle Exploring the future of urban development: How can cities become more circular, resilient, and innovative? What happens when places of innovation, companies, civil society initiatives, and think tanks work together with makers and doers to rethink sustainability? In spring 2025, you can meet us at various events to explore how our FAB Region project is turning these ideas into action in the Bergisch city triangle in Germany! The FAB Region is deeply rooted in circular economy initiatives, Fab Labs and makerspaces and sustainable industry development, but at its core, it’s part of something larger: the transformation of cities and regions towards a more sustainable future! We will present the FAB Region example to spark new discussions and inspire action at the POLIS Convention in Düsseldorf. Not all future urban development strategies place sustainability and circular economy at the forefront. We’re here to change that, also at the Zukunftsfestival Wuppertal. By showcasing how we’re adapting the globally recognised Fab City approach to our own local context—the Bergisch city triangle—with the cities of Remscheid, Solingen, and Wuppertal, we offer a scalable and practical mode for integrating circular economy principles into local industries. We focus on three key sectors: Food & Agriculture – How can we promote regional, resilient food systems? Sustainable Buildings – How can we build more efficiently and reuse materials? Circular Textiles – What does a local, low-waste textile industry look like? We’re working on practical, actionable solutions for businesses, but also for the everyday lives of citizens, enabling and empowering them through learning formats, guidance and the development of several innovation centres in the region to make sustainable and circular choices. Join us at these next events: POLIS Convention – 7 and 8 May 2025 With over 7,500 attendees and 300 exhibitors at Düsseldorf’s Areal Böhler, the POLIS Convention is the place to be for forward-thinking urban development. Zukunftsfestival Wuppertal – 25 May 2025 Immerse yourself in the many facets of sustainability at the Wuppertal future festival. Numerous inspiring exhibitors, regional start-ups and hands-on activities will be waiting for you and we are among them, bringing our most fun and interactive activities for you to explore.
