CSCP Executive Director Michael Kuhndt Appointed to the German Senate of Economy

The Senate of Economy  is an independent organisation that brings together individuals from business, science, politics, and civil society who are committed to promoting responsible economic practices and sustainable development.

The CSCP Executive Director, Michael Kuhndt has joined the German Senate of Economy as a Senator to support a stronger positioning of social and environmental sustainability into business activity.

Under the motto “Economy for People”, the vision of the Senate is to achieve a society that enables the fair participation of all its members. To this end, the Senate advocates for a human-centric approach in the market economy, promotes ethics, corporate social responsibility, fair collaboration between companies of all sizes and legal forms and state and international institutions.

“I am honoured to join the Senate of Economy and its group of senators dedicated to mainstreaming sustainability in the market. As a new member, it is my goal to contribute to scaling up the twin sustainable and digital transition as well as advance Circular Economy among various stakeholder groups. I look forward to exploring how we can create enabling policy conditions that truly accelerate the necessary transformations toward a more sustainable and responsible economic model. Together, we can work toward the common good and address the pressing issues facing us, in line with the Senate’s mission of balancing economic, ecological, and social aspects of coexistence.”, says Michael Kuhndt.

The Senate of Economy is dedicated to the aims of the United Nations and all its agencies and bodies as well as the Ethics Association of the German Economy.

As part of its activities, the Senate informs and advices high level decision makers on relevant topics, enables networking between businesses and other key actors, and promotes collaboration in the interest of common societal goals.

The German Senate of Economy is part of the Senate of Economy Europe.

Members and appointed senators of the Senate include cross-industry entrepreneurs and business leaders of companies of all sizes as well as leaders from the fields of research and civil society.
