Check Out Six Free Online Courses on Sustainability Transformation

Sustainability transformation starts with skills. Whether you want to understand your carbon footprint, redesign a business model or develop a materiality-based strategy, CSCP’s six free online courses developed in the CATALYST project provide the practical tools to move from ambition to impact.

Who are the courses for?

The courses, which are available in English, are designed to equip small and medium-sized enteprises (SMEs), sustainability professionals, and students with the competencies needed to lead the transition. They range from beginner to advanced levels and vary in workload from short (8-hour introductions) to comprehensive (32-hour deep dives). This allows course participants to choose the level and scope that best fits their experience and time availability.

The courses cover different topics, such as sustainable behaviour, circular economy, organisational development, and sustainability strategy development.

Sustainable Behaviour

The journey can begin with the course Green Up Our (Work) Life: an Introduction to Sustainable Behaviour (beginner level, 8 hours). The participants can explore their personal and professional sustainability impacts, calculate their carbon footprint, and take part in practical workplace challenges.

For those ready to go deeper, the course Green Nudges – Bridging the Intention–Action Gap and Shaping a Sustainable Future (intermediate, 20 hours) introduces behavioural science tools such as nudging, social norms and the COM-B model. Course participants discover how to design measurable interventions that drive sustainable action within SMEs and beyond.

Circular Economy

With the course Closing the Loop – Introduction to the Circular Economy (beginner, 8 hours), participants gain a clear and practical foundation in circular principles, strategies, policies and business models.

Taking it further, the course Circular Business Strategies and Innovation (advanced, 32 hours) supports professionals in analysing value chains, identifying circular opportunities and designing their own circular business models.

Organisational Development

Sustainability transformation requires strong leadership. The course Transformation and Change Leadership – How to Navigate Through the Transition Successfully and Inspiringly (intermediate, 20 hours) provides tools to understand change dynamics and apply regenerative leadership principles that foster collaboration and adaptability.

Sustainability Strategy Development

Finally, Sustainability Strategy – Developing a Tailor-Made Strategy Based on Materiality (advanced, 32 hours) guides participants through a double materiality assessment to identify key impacts, risks and opportunities — and translate them into a clear, actionable sustainability strategy.

All courses were developed by CSCP experts and are available for free via the CATALYST learning platform. Modular, practice-oriented and designed for immediate application, they support both upskilling and reskilling in a rapidly evolving sustainability landscape.
