Lea joined the CSCP in January 2018 as a Student Assistant to support the Sustainable Lifestyles team.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science and Home Economics from the University of Gießen, and she is highly interested in sustainable food production. In order to gain experience in artisan food production and to perfect her skills, she completed a vocational training as pastry baker.

Since September 2017, Lea has been enrolled in the master’s programme Sustainable Food and Natural Resources at the Centre for Alternative Technologies in Wales. At the CSCP, she is involved in projects on consumer behaviour, health, nutrition, food production and the future of work.

Besides her work at the CSCP, Lea holds workshops in the field of sustainable pastry baking for professionals and lay people. As a long-time active member of the Slow Food Youth movement, Lea is engaging in activities that will achieve healthier living and more sustainable food and farming. Since 2019, she has been on the board of Slow Food Germany. In Cologne, she co-founded a community supported agriculture initiative and is a member of the local food policy council movement advocating for more food sovereignty in cities.

Lea is a German national.
