Lea joined the CSCP in January 2018 as part of the Sustainable Lifestyles (SL) team.

Driven by her passion for sustainable food production and consumption, she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science and Home Economics from the University of Giessen and later enrolled in the Sustainable Food and Natural Resources Master’s programme at the Centre for Alternative Technologies in Wales. She graduated with distinction in 2021 on the role of behavioural change in the transformation of food systems using the example of the German dairy system.

In between her studies, Lea completed a vocational training as a pastry chef to gain experience in artisanal food production and to perfect her skills.

At the CSCP she is involved in projects on consumer behaviour, health, nutrition, behaviour change and food production and works on sustainability labelling and capacity building.

Besides her work at the CSCP, Lea holds workshops in the field of sustainable pastry baking for professionals and amateurs. As a long-time active member of the Slow Food Youth movement, Lea is engaged in activities to achieve healthier living and more sustainable food and farming. Since 2019, she has been on the board of Slow Food Germany movement. In Cologne, she co-founded a community-supported agriculture initiative and is a member of the advisory board of the local food policy council advocating for more food sovereignty in cities.
