Accelerate the Shift to Sustainable Food Value Chains – Join the VALUMICS Final Conference on 21 September 2021!

The transition to more sustainable and climate-neutral food systems is more urgent than ever. Changes in both our production as well as consumption patterns need to happen to support such a shift. The VALUMICS project final conference will bring together key stakeholders to discuss and exchange on how such transition pathways could look like.

Throughout the last four years, the VALUMICS project has worked toward providing European decision makers with a comprehensive suite of approaches and tools to evaluate the impact of policies and strategies for enhancing the resilience, integrity and sustainability of food value chains in Europe.

The project’s final conference will bring together key stakeholders and project partners to discuss the main findings as well as initiate a discussion on synergies for maximising the impact of the project’s work. Food economics, retailer perspectives, the need for further data collection, and transition pathways are some of the points that will be covered during the event.

During the conference, highlights of CSCP’s work on consumer behavioural analysis will be shared. The CSCP project team will also provide further insights on how a better understanding of consumers’ reality can support the design of more effective policies and action plans towards more sustainable food consumption.

In relation to this, the CSCP has so far published three reports that looked at food purchasing and consumption determinants, behavioural interventions for more sustainable food consumption, and retailer interventions for more sustainable food systems. The final report shares multi-stakeholder recommendations that look at leverage points on a system level for driving positive change.
