Armutsrisiken und Armutsbekämpfungspotenziale in der Nachhaltigkeits- und Klimaanpassungsstrategie des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen

This study examines the sustainability and climate policies of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) from a social policy perspective, with a focus on poverty-related impacts. It aims to integrate ecological, social, and economic dimensions to identify gaps, overcome fragmented approaches, and improve both the living conditions of people affected by poverty and public trust in sustainability policies. The analysis focuses on the NRW Sustainability Strategy (2020) and the Climate Adaptation Strategy (2024), assessing how poverty is addressed, what impact potentials exist, and where further action is needed. Methodologically, the study uses a transdisciplinary approach combining literature research with practical insights. An expert advisory board—including professionals and individuals with lived experience of poverty—contributed through workshops and interviews. A participatory system diagram was used to illustrate systemic relationships and policy impacts.
