Join Us at the FAB Festival & Other Circular Economy Events in Summer 2025! From maker spaces to main stages—this summer, we will be showcasing what circular transformation can look like in the Bergisch city triangle in Germany. The real highlight: our FAB Festival from 29–31 August 2025 across three cities, three innovation centres, and three themes, all hands-on and impact-oriented! One year in and we’re moving from vision to reality in our FAB Region project. During summer 2025, we will showcase what regional circular economy looks like in practice and how everyone can engage. In spring 2025, we’ve already taken the stage at several major events. At the Maker Faire in Wuppertal, we brought interactive formats on upcycling, sensor-based environmental monitoring, and repairing. At the Future Festival (Zukunftsfestival) in Wuppertal, we engaged children and families with science-based experiences. At the the POLIS Convention in Düsseldorf and the re:publica event in Berlin we brought the FAB Region message: circularity is not abstract, but rather something we can all learn about and practice. What’s coming up next? For actors in the Bergisch city triangle, don’t miss out on the Bergisch Länd Festival in Solingen on 5 July 2025, where FAB Region will be present. In July 2025, we will travel to the Fab Conference in the Czech Republic, where we’ll present our project to the global FAB community, share our learnings, and officially pledge to become a member of the Fab City Global Initiative. The mayors of the German cities of Wuppertal, Remscheid, and Solingen have signed the commitment letter and are officially on board. Don’t miss our FAB Festival 29 to 31 August 2025! From 29 to 31 August 2025, we will host the first FAB Festival in the Bergisch city triangle region. It’s our mid-term celebration and action-packed showcase of everything we’ve developed so far. In addition, the festival will give the floor to many great initiatives that have already been established successfully as this is what the FAB Region is all about: connecting actors and scaling existing solutions in addition to creating new ones. Each day will spotlight one of our three innovation places with formats focused on one of our core sectors: food, textiles and buildings. Expect hands-on workshops, local initiatives, vertical farming, circular design labs, AI- and VR-supported learning journeys, and open repair and maker spaces—all set up in ways that invite the public to experience the FAB spirit of make, learn, share!
