Behaviour Change Interventions in Practice: “Maintaining use of OurFish APP, there’s more to catch than counting fish”

The Academy of Change (AoC) is an evidence-based capacity building programme on sustainable behaviour change designed for leaders working on climate change and sustainability engagement within the civil society sector. The Catalyst built upon the AoC programme by accelerating the integration and use of sustainable behaviour change know-how within civil society organisations (CSOs). Three projects from three different CSOs were selected and supported to implement behaviour change interventions.

This report is part of a three-report series written by the Catalyst pilot leads to share their learnings and advice on how to implement behaviour change interventions in practice. In the report, Rare, a US-based CSO, shares its experience in developing, implementing and evaluating a project to maintain use of their “OurFish” APP, which records and aggregates fishing data. This behaviour change intervention aimed at improving the rate of adoption of Rare’s “OurFish” v.3 APP.

The report “BIKEmode: From cars to e-bikes” highlights the experience of CEED Bulgaria on promoting cycling to commute to work, while the report “The Game of Showers” shares learnings from Hespul, France in reducing water consumption through gamification.
