Building Skills for Tomorrow: Our CATALYST Project Presents its 70-Course Learning Programme

The shift toward a climate-neutral Europe depends greatly on the skills and competences of individuals and businesses to initiate and drive the needed transformations. With its European Skills Agenda, the European Union (EU) has detailed a five-year plan to help individuals and businesses build skills in order to strengthen the sustainable competitiveness of the EU, ensure social fairness, and strengthen resilience. At an international event held in November 2023 in Graz, Austria our CATALYST project unveiled an extensive curriculum of 70 online courses that support individuals and companies to reskill and upskill in view of an ever-changing work environment.

The courses cover a broad range of sustainability and management topics and serve as a foundation for the five CATALYST Centers of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs). Set in five European countries, the centres are built on values of competence, cooperation, care, and commitment, aiming to equip organisations and individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary for sustainable, long-term change. The main goals of the centres include supporting personal and organisational development, fostering sustainability in small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) business models, and contributing to policymaking.

The learning programme is primarily tailored to the needs of SMEs and therefore addresses their owners, managers, and professionals. However, students as well as representatives of professional bodies, associations, and chambers are also invited to take advantage of the offer.

The CATALYST program comprises 70 courses across three levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced) to meet the diverse needs of the target groups. The courses adopt a multi-level approach covering systemic, organisational, and personal levels.

Topics of the modules include:

  • Sustainable development and resilient transition on a systemic level
  • Business transformation, sustainable business management, Circular Economy and intellectual capital management on an organisational level
  • Enhancing transformation readiness within the organisation as well as on an individual level

The courses are complemented by supporting resources and services developed and offered by the partners, including guidelines, templates, and consulting services among others. In order to ensure that users are guided seamlessly and efficiently through the educational offering, personalised learning pathways and compiled in-depth learning programs are in the works for the interactive CATALYST learning platform.

Another notable feature is the CATALYST Network, an integral part of the platform facilitating connection and collaboration among stakeholders from business and education, on an international scale. Functioning as a community of professionals and students, the network fosters the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and best practices and encourages collaboration by facilitating pilot projects.

The CATALYST Centres of Vocational Excellence are positioned as central hubs for enabling sustainable business transformation in Europe, promising a collaborative and informative transformation journey!

If you are interested in learning more about the program and its potential, save the date and join our upcoming national event on 6 February in Berlin, Germany as well as online.
