Meet Us at the EU Circular Week from 23 to 27 October 2023!

The Circular Economy is a complex transformation process that requires close cooperation between different actors. With the goal of showcasing different key aspects of circularity and enabling stakeholder dialogue, the EU Circular Week 2023 will host a series of events and initiatives taking place across Europe and covering topics such as new business models, consumer behaviour change and social innovations.

On 25 October 2023, the CSCP Executive Director, Michael Kuhndt will be a speaker at the opening session of the Mazovia Circular Congress, which is the focal point of the Circular Week 2023. The session will focus on the pan-Europen dialogue for a resource efficient Europe and you can find further information here.

Each day of the EU Circular Week is dedicated to a specific area of Circular Economy:

Monday, 23 October 2023 – Plastic, packaging & chemical industry
Tuesday, 24 October 2023 – Food & circular bioeconomy
Wednesday, 25 October 2023 – Mazovia Circular Congress, Poland
Thursday, 26 October 2023 – Construction & circular cities
Friday, 27 October 2023 – Textiles & fashion

On the 24 of October, our HOOP and FoodLoops project teams will take part in a session, sharing learnings and experiences on working directly with cities and regions towards creating circular solutions around the topics of food and bioeconomy.

The focus will be on CSCP’s learnings in stakeholder engagement activities and insights on how circular transitions can be approached in cities and regions around Europe. To learn more about our HOOP project, please get in touch with Carina Diedrich or for FoodLoops with Daniela Chaves. You can find more information about the session “Circular Food Hub to tackle food waste in cities, plant-based product development” here.

In addition, our CEE2ACT project will also be represented by the project lead partner Geonardo, showcasing how stakeholder engagement on a national level can foster policy change in the sector of bioeconomy. You can find further information on the session “Systemic ecosystem for circular bioeconomy development on national bioeconomy strategies” here.

On 26 October, we will also contribute to the event with an online session on citizen engagement and circular behaviours. The session will discuss the common issues incurred when trying to engage citizens with the Circular Economy, followed by the main pillars of engaging citizens with circular behaviours in an effective manner. The session will be supported by the preliminary findings of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) Leadership Group on Citizen Engagement & Circular Behaviours, led by the CSCP in collaboration with the Rediscovery Centre. Please visit the EU Circular Week website for the latest updates on this session.

On 26 October 2023, the CSCP will also host the session “Needs of Business in the Transition to a Circular Economy”, sharing insights from a recent Circular Economy study conducted by Prosperkolleg with a focus on businesses in North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany. Additionally, Philipp Ober will share CSCP and co-do lab insights on challenges faced by companies in embracing circularity. To join the session, please register here.
