Arne is a Senior Expert at the CSCP, specialising in sustainability management and the circular economy, with a focus on digitalisation and AI as transformation enablers. He works with companies, from SMEs to global corporations, to identify where sustainability and circularity strengthen their business, translating cutting-edge insights into concrete impact and market opportunities.

Areas of expertise

Arne’s cross-cutting focus is business innovation for sustainability and circularity. He works hands-on with companies, from foresight, market analysis and portfolio sustainability assessment, to opportunity mapping, ideation and validation of viability and impact, to circular business model and business case development and piloting. True to the CSCP spirit of connecting, collaborating, and co-creating, he thinks and works in networks and multi-stakeholder ecosystems.

Current work

Arne currently explores emerging themes of the twin transition, such as circular business models enabled by AI and Digital Product Passports (DPPs), sustainable agentic commerce, circular city intelligence, as well as physical AI and robotics. Drawing on approaches from design thinking to business ecosystem design, he advances these topics in formats such as innovation challenges and co-creation workshops that bring together stakeholders from business, industry associations, research, civil society and policy.

Previous experience

Before joining the CSCP, he held specialist and project management roles at a digital start-up, at Hewlett-Packard Software, and the REWE Group as well as leading a team at Oxfam, where he gained first-hand insight into the social and environmental impacts of global value chains. This path across tech, retail, and international development is what shapes his business-minded, interdisciplinary lens on sustainability.

Education

Arne holds an MBA in Sustainability Management from Leuphana University Lüneburg, as well as a German-American double degree in Business Administration with a focus on international management: a BA from Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences and a BSc from Coastal Carolina University in the USA.
